The Defendant will Pay the Sum of One Piece

With this new of Funimation suing the public I feel like I should voice an opinion. For all who don’t know what I’m talking about the link below will take you to the story.

I would like to point out now that this is purely my opinion the opinion of Zombifaction. My opinion doesn’t count as anyone else’s or even those of TeamNakama. Along with this I feel I should say that neither myself nor TeamNakama support the theft of anything for any reason. And that even though we Abridged the series One Piece which is owned by Funimation we are not selling the episodes and we have taken the legal route and purchased our DVD’s as well as our ripping and editing software. So please support the official release.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way I feel that Funimation might want to hold a little bit of responsibility for itself in considering why people might be more willing to pirate the video of One Piece as opposed to waiting for a legitimate release. And I will state right now that the above article is not about One Piece episodes in general but that of Episode 481. I feel that we as fans should wait until a legal release but at the same time I understand that not only does it take a while (an understatement for One Piece) but there is a lot of work involved with the dubbing process. However the fact that Funimation seems to have given up completely on One Piece as a whole. It’s these feelings that make us want to acquire these episodes in less than legal manners.

So in my humble opinion the fault falls on both of us, consumer and producer. We each hold many of the faults for this little debacle. I understand that in the end there is no way I could change anything on either of our sides on this matter, but I would hope that this little issue that Funimation has taken action against would open their eyes a bit wider.

So hopefully Funimation will jump back on the (pirate) ship and sail it back to the mainstream. The fans want One Piece and they will go to any means to get it. I hope that Funimation sees we are here and we will go the legal way if we see it as a good deal. So come on Funimation we want our treasure, we want our One Piece!

A Quick Mention (Background Art)

I wanted to mention where the background of this blog comes from since I have yet to do that. Well the background for the blog comes from a picture by ByeNeida located here: ByeNeida.Deviantart.com

From this image our editor modified the size and added more sky to the picture. We copied and pasted around until we had the appropriate width for the background from there it was just a matter of fixing and incongruities that were created. We feel we did a good job hiding them .

After the sky we used a gradient from the lighter surface of the water to the darker as the level lowered. From there we took a photo of Sea kings and extracted them from the one piece anime, we recreated the purples head, a bit poorly but our editor is not an artist, so we think it turned out well.

From there we added a seabed and added another layer of water which we increased the opacity until near invisibility. So that is where that came from, if you would like to make us a professional background just contact Zombifaction or OmegaOptimusSupreme, you can also directly email us if you feel like that is the better option.

Space Pirates!

Can I just give a large shout out to some friends who are also abridgers, and just so happen to be better than us. I'm talking about TeamXGP, who abridge Outlaw Star and might I say it is freakin hilarious!

They make episodes faster than just about any other abridger I know and each and everyone is hilarious. The cast is dynamite featuring voice actors like:

And a good friend Trixen, this guy is the glue that holds this series together. He is pulling so much works in the series, you could probably count him as 5 different characters in just about any episodes, except he can differentiate each voice so well you can't tell it's him! Taking on roles like: Gene Starwind, Gene's father(Sean Connery), Hilda, Old man(with braids) and they say if you listen closly you can hear him shouting obscenities in the background of every scene.

So I just wanted to mention these guys they need so much more people watching them, it is completely worth it, every time!
